Deep, lasting change is possible when we understand how the brain truly lets go of old pain. In this presentation, Diane Poole Heller welcomes Bruce Ecker—co-originator of Coherence Therapy and a pioneer in the field of memory reconsolidation—to explore how our most transformative therapy sessions really work.

Bruce breaks down the neuroscience behind memory reconsolidation, the brain’s natural capacity to dissolve entrenched emotional learnings at their roots. With clear, real-life examples, he shows how persistent patterns like panic, anger, or anxiety can unwind when the right conditions are met—often more quickly than we might expect.

Listeners will hear about the three key steps that allow new, liberating insights to overwrite old, limiting beliefs on a neural level. Bruce shares how “juxtaposition experiences”—moments that directly contradict old emotional learnings—can create real, enduring freedom from symptoms that once felt immovable.

Bruce illuminates a hopeful, practical roadmap for anyone working with trauma and attachment wounds and offers therapists a clear framework for guiding consistent, lasting breakthroughs in their practice.
