In today’s fast-paced world, many of us struggle with chronic stress and an over-activated nervous system. The limbic system, responsible for our survival instincts, can become overactive due to prolonged stress or trauma, making it difficult to regulate emotions, maintain connections, and recover from stress.

When the limbic system perceives danger, it triggers the fight, flight, or freeze response. While this response helps us navigate immediate threats, frequent activation due to everyday stressors like work pressure or interpersonal conflicts can harm our mental and physical health.

This is especially true for those who have experienced trauma, as their nervous system remains in a heightened state of alertness. This chronic state can lead to a host of issues including anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairments.

But it’s not just our clients who might be dysregulated… up to 50% of therapists could be at risk of developing secondary trauma. As therapists, first responders, counselors, or coaches, we may take on secondary trauma—or the stress that results from helping or wanting to help someone who is traumatized and suffering.

Fortunately, there’s a way to address these challenges. In this special training class, Lisa Wimberger, founder of the Neurosculpting® Institute, will introduce you to a brain-based approach that promotes neuroplasticity and improves our ability to address chronic stress patterns. Her methods focus on regulating the nervous system, developing greater self-awareness, and reinstating a sense of peace and calm.

She explains the theory behind the framework and demonstrates simple, effective practices you can incorporate into your daily routine to help both yourself and your clients manage an over-activated nervous system.
