Michelle Gallagher
Hello, my name is Michelle and I have been working in the behavioral health field since 1992. I have a small private practice providing psychotherapy to individuals who are struggling with common life issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-worth, relationships and relational trauma, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and other traumas that may include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I utilize a customized approach that may consist of various techniques. With my over twenty years of experience, I provide a balance of insightful and direct feedback with non-directive therapy, as I understand the importance of you discovering your own insights, and your body finding it’s own healing path. I am an open and accepting person, who realizes we are all just human, and are perfectly imperfect. I have a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling with a specialty in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation. I hold two independent licenses in the state of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC). I also am a Certified Traumatologist (CT) with the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. I am trained in both Level 1 & 2 of EMDR, am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and a Lead Assistant in SE Beginning & Intermediate trainings. I provide Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced Level Personal Sessions, and Beginning & Intermediate Level Case Consults for other providers to receive SE certification. I am a Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience (DARe) provider and Assistant, and provide Personal Sessions & Consults for other providers to receive DARe certification. I regularly assist in SE and DARe trainings to keep my own knowledge fresh and to give back to the therapeutic community. I am also trained in Post Induction Therapy (PIT), and am also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist (CGRS). I completed a Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies through Bessel van der Kolk’s, The Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute, as well as an eight-month Leadership Institute Training through the Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network.
