Alex Haselbeck
I specialize in working with people that struggle with anxiety & perfectionism, that have survived trauma, or that find themselves stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns. My nature is down to earth and open; I like to dig into therapy with you, build a frank and trusting dynamic & co-create a sense of curiosity about the experiences in your life that might inform present patterns of thinking, feeling & behaving. I believe that humor, trust & unconditional regard are the hallmarks of a strong therapeutic relationship. I also work with couples via an attachment-based lens & am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State and obtained my Master in Social Work at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, focusing on clinical social work and being trained through an anti-oppressive framework. I’ve since received postgraduate training in Somatic Experiencing, IFS-informed/parts work and am an EMDR Certified Therapist. I’m currently working towards becoming a certified DARe (Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning Experience) practitioner.
