BONUS: Generational Trauma Self-Assessment

Deepen your insight into how intergenerational trauma may be shaping your life.

This self-assessment and guided reflection tool is designed to help you identify patterns of inherited wounding, unmet needs, and unconscious family loyalties that may be influencing your relationships, emotional responses, and sense of self.

Because generational trauma can be subtle—and often normalized within families—this checklist offers a clear starting point for awareness. Use it to map patterns across generations, clarify areas for healing, and track shifts as you move through the course material.

Available to print, download, or complete digitally as a fillable PDF.

Why take this course?

Emotional withdrawal isn’t just silence or distance, it’s a learned survival strategy.

Intergenerational trauma often shows up as patterns we can’t quite explain, and in ways that can be difficult to track, or even recognize.

Some people feel it as a tendency toward estrangement, or an undercurrent of guilt or obligation in their family system. Others notice emotional needs that never quite feel met., or cycles that repeat, even when we try to choose differently.

You may have already done the work to understand your family history and reflect on your childhood, but still feel like something lingers.

Why?

Because inherited trauma is more than just a story to understand—it lives in our bodies. What gets passed down are nervous system patterns, relational expectations, and unconscious loyalties to those who came before us.

Insight alone rarely resolves that.

Neither does solely analyzing the past, or rushing to reconciliation without honoring boundaries.

This course offers a more grounded path, and an integrative way to work with the wounds, gifts, and challenges that flow between generations..

Through guided practices, live demonstrations, and structured reflections, Alex and Diane share how to:

    • Identify inherited patterns without becoming overwhelmed
    • Meet unmet needs with compassion and agency
    • Integrate both the wounds and the gifts of your ancestry
    • Break cycles consciously, rather than unconsciously repeating them

Whether you’re seeking personal healing or a deeper understanding of your family system, this training provides a structured, embodied way to transform what was passed down—without denying it or being defined by it.

What you’ll learn?

In this self-paced, on-demand training, you’ll learn…

Here’s what’s in the training curriculum…

Session 1

Understanding the Patterns of Ancestral Trauma

Family can be our greatest source of love and fulfillment—but also the root of our deepest wounds. Certain patterns of wounding repeat across generations until they are brought to light. In this session, you’ll begin to identify these inherited patterns and learn how healing is possible, even without the physical presence of your ancestors.

What you’ll learn:

Trauma Solutions: A young girl sits at a kitchen table covering her ears, looking unhappy, while two adults talk in the background.
Session 2

Unpacking Deficiency: Mapping What You Didn’t Get

At the heart of a wounded lineage are the unmet needs we carry forward. Core emotional needs that were overlooked, or family narratives that became “normal,” can unconsciously shape the operating system of our lives. As children, we relied completely on our caregivers. As adults, we can learn to meet these needs for ourselves—this is where deep healing begins.

What you’ll learn:

Trauma Solutions: A young person with light brown hair sits on a couch, hugging their knees and looking thoughtfully into the distance.
Session 3

Integrating the Gifts: Embodying the Blessings of Your Ancestors

When exploring our family history, it’s easy to focus only on wounds. But every lineage also carries immense gifts—resilience, wisdom, creativity, and love. In this session, you’ll learn to embrace the blessings handed down to you, and to embody the strength of your heritage.

What you’ll learn:

Trauma Solutions: Three adults and two children stand outside, smiling at the camera with trees and a house in the background.
Session 4

Reconciliation, Repair & Forgiveness

We can’t change the past—but we can change how it lives within us today. Reconciliation, repair, and forgiveness are powerful healing tools, but they must be approached with care to avoid further harm. In this session, you’ll discover how to use them wisely and in alignment with your truth.

What you’ll learn:

Trauma Solutions: An older woman and a younger woman sit close together. The younger woman rests her head on the older woman's shoulder with her eyes closed, both wearing light blue clothing.
Session 5

Breaking the Cycle: Creating Your Future with Conscious Awareness

Understanding your history is powerful—but true transformation happens when you actively choose new ways of being. In this final session, you’ll create a clear, practical plan for breaking old cycles, honoring your ancestors, and stepping into a future aligned with healing, wholeness, and possibility.

What you’ll learn:

Trauma Solutions: A person with short blonde hair smiles outdoors on a beach, with sand and water visible in the background.

Self-awareness, used in the right way, empowers us to change. It’s empowers us to heal. We have the potential to break the cycle, and write a new story.
