Rieko Kohda

As a trauma-informed therapist based in Japan, I am committed to supporting individuals who carry the imprints of early attachment wounds and relational trauma. Through my integrative approach—grounded in Somatic Experiencing®, the Comprehensive Resource Model, Gestalt Therapy and DARe™—I gently guide clients toward a felt sense of safety, connection, and wholeness.

I believe that deep healing becomes possible in the presence of a regulated, compassionate other. In my work, I aim to offer not only tools for emotional regulation but also corrective attachment experiences that support the nervous system’s return to balance.

I am particularly passionate about helping adults who have experienced complex or developmental trauma, and who find it difficult to form safe, nurturing relationships. My goal is to co-create a therapeutic space where new patterns of relating can emerge—anchored in presence, authenticity, and trust.

I continue to be inspired by the power of the DARe™ model to bring warmth, structure, and lasting transformation to both client and therapist.
