Alex Haselbeck
I specialize in working with people that struggle with anxiety & perfectionism, that have survived trauma, or that find themselves stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns. My nature is down to earth and open; I like to dig into therapy with you, build a frank and trusting dynamic & co-create a sense of curiosity about the experiences in your life that might inform present patterns of thinking, feeling & behaving. I believe that humor, trust & unconditional regard are the hallmarks of a strong therapeutic relationship. I also work with couples via an attachment-based lens & specialize in non-traditional relationship issues. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State. I obtained my Master in Social Work at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, focusing on clinical social work and being trained through an anti-oppressive framework. I’ve since received postgraduate training in Somatic Experiencing, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), parts work and Emotionally-Focused Couples therapy and am currently working towards becoming a certified DARe (Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning Experience) practitioner.
